Duchy of Wrisrivaria
Nestled within rolling hills and mountains, the Duchy of Wrisrivaria is known not only for its natural protection, but also its bountiful lands. The current head of the House, Vincent Wrisrivaria, also known as the Duke of Masquerades enjoys flaunting his wealth whenever he has guests and is known for throwing lavish parties. The duchy, while not as powerful as others, is still by right a force to be reckoned with. They have historically feuded with Vegalla and Belcastel (particularly for the fertile lowlands) but in modern times the duke has been able to tell where the wind was blowing and partnered with Belcastel to take control of the kingdom. However, that’s not to say it is all rosy, as the recent incursions from Kernaros has lay siege to much of Wrisrivaria’s northern borders and worst of all somehow found their way through the mountain and into the heartland of the duchy. Yet despite this, Belcastel has been left unharmed; Vincent Wrisrivaria knows it has got something to do with the deeper pockets and conniving ways of Dedrik of Belcastel but knows better than to mention it. Now with Dedrik as standing King of Elliaster, Vincent has had to swallow his pride and swear fealty to him. Defences along Wrisrivaria have been left largely to their own devices, but with Ylistrium now legal, Vincent has pioneered multiple offensive and defensive uses for it. Truly of all the dukes, he has funded the most militarily-applicable inventions and some think he could easily make a bid for the Kingdom itself. For the moment, the north and Wrisrivaria’s own borders are a bigger concern.
