Montiga
The newest of the cities, Montiga stands to benefit the most from the legalization of Ylistrium and subsequent opening of the world. Montiga hugs both the Farradax mountains and the Molierre tributary river, the Monsegui river. Despite the mild weather and shielding of the worst of the Molierren storms, the land here suffers from some of the affliction of the eastern wastelands and cannot produce much of its own food. It has to rely on imports from Medoisse and Molise in exchange of easterner goods.
As a matter of course, they deal the most with the strange people of the eastern wastelands and it was the reason the city was set up in the first place. The people seem intrigued with Ylistrium and will pay heft sums in spices and exotic materials for the ore which has led Montiga to become shrewd merchants to acquire it in whatever way possible. Montiga has sent many of its merchants to the basin to establish contacts and have made quite a name for themselves, in particular with the new king of Elliaster. Many inventors and alchemists began to pop up from the city, with Mignote the most influential of them all. It was here that the flying contraptions used by Dedrik were created, and where engines for transportation developed. Soon enough there were automatic rails for carts throughout the underbelly of the Farradax, though they were still victim to the mercurial nature of the mountains.
