Sidriel is one of the Archangels of Sanctum and a member of the High Council of Sanctum. Born in the Citadel of Light during The Godswar, Sidriel was a loyal servant of the Lady Arishanne. It was widely known that Sidriel was the Lady's favorite, before her fall. After her death, Sidriel joined the newly formed High Council of Sanctum, and stepped up as a ruler of The Light after the truce negotiated by Bahamut between Helmvor and Tisrendel. Sidriel has assisted in guiding the Heavens ever since, and often split his time between the Inner Realms and Sanctum.

Sidriel is the most interventionist of all the Archangels, often interfering in the affairs of the Elder Races. As such, he has cultivated the largest following amongst the Archangels. He often sends messages, signs and other communications to his followers, and as such is one of the more readily venerated amongst his number. Sidriel voted against both Savanne during the Age of Shadows, as well as Azreal during the current Age of Storms, convinced by his best friend Xenades in both circumstances against his better judgement.

Sidriel defended Earedar during the Infernal Crusade, landing at Illidion and helping the Free Marches in defending against Yzgaroth. Sidriel was routinely defeated by the Prince of the Damned, and almost slain in single combat in the Black Hills. Sidriel worked quite closely with the Order of the Ghiscari during the Crusade, and was responsible for helping transform them from their scholarly roots to the effective fighting force they became. Sidriel was also instrumental in uniting the followers of The Triumvirate in the foundation of the Oathsworn, even though he is not recognized as a patron of that organization.

Faiths, Cults and Organizations

Church of Light- The Church is the largest and most powerful religious organization in the Known Realms. Most popular amongst the Elder Races, the Church is dedicated to the preservation of the Light's teaching and subservience to the Lady's will. They protect the weak, attend to the poor, and are a beacon of hope in times of darkness. While sometimes this mission can be lost or corrupted within the Church, they still hold great influence over most of Earedar. There are many smaller orders and fraternities within the Church, the most well-known being the Oathsworn.
High Council of Sanctum- The ruling council of Sanctum, the High Council rules over the forces of the Light across the Known Realms. Their leader is Araneos, Archangel of Honor and Protector of the Realms. All followers of the Light recognize him as the leader of our Lady's Church, and the reach of the council extends across known space.
Sisters of Mercy- Based originally out of the holy city of Illidion, the Sisters are an organization venerating Sidriel and dedicated to protecting the weak, feeding the hungry, and caring for the poor. They are widespread across the coast of the Inner Sea, and are one of the most charitable of the organizations under the Church of Light. After the event known as the Fall of Illidion, their headquarters relocated to the Free City of Emberfall, where they remain today.
