The Fawnih Fox is a small fox native to the island of Ippah. Its thick fur helps insulate the animal during colder nights, while its light color helps reflect heat during the hot season. To help dissipate heat even more the Fawnih has distinctively large ears, with dense fur inside. The soles of their paws are also covered in fur to protect them from walking on the hot ground. They are mostly active during the day.
Fawnih's have a light beige fur, with distinctive white spots on their back. Their long ears have white fur on the inside, with a sandy color on the back, and black edges. Their eyes are large and dark, with a dark stripe running from the inside to either side of the slender muzzle. They have a black nose and a long slender fluffy tail which ends in a tuft of dense long sandy colored fur.
Although there are still plenty of wild Fawnih's on the island, the species has been domesticated long ago. They are often kept as pets, and help catch insects and small rodents.
Fawnih's are not only excellent for keeping homes free of rodents and insects, they are also used in
Ippah Hospital as an emotional support animal for their patients. In total the hospital owns 35 fawnih's who receive lodging, food, and care in exchange for their work in the hospital. Fawnih's are very social and caring. They seem to have an innate ability to sense when a person is not feeling well and like to give those people extra attention and cuddles. Studies show that patients report feeling less pain, less anxiety, and are overall much happier due to visits by the hospital fawnih's. Steps are being taken to start up
My kingdom for an emotional-support fawnih. I love this take on a working animal that performs mental support rather than physical labor!
Thank you. :)
