Society of Infinity

The Society of Infinity is an organization with unclear history, lost in time and intentional misinformation. It was created by Hadrian of the Sect of the Serpent, intended as a secret strike-force. Though they were not directly under his control--the Society didn't even know he existed--he nevertheless used them to do his dirty work, having them assassinate anyone who got in his way, be it competitors, government officials who he didn't agree with, or anyone else. Missions came to the Society of Infinity via messages supposedly delivered by their deity, Auhir, or more directly, via the Sect's contact-person, Abelia. Really, all missions came from the Sect, who relied on the Society's faux religion to keep them in line, not knowing that the deity they stole from a long-lost religion wasn't so made-up after all.

Familiars

An odd footnote in the existence of the Society of Infinity is also their most characteristic trait: their Familiars. Every member of the Society has a special enchanted magical crystal which is bound to them and only them, which can be used to summon a familiar: a magical being whose shape is determined by the dragon who owns it. How strongly each dragon bonds with their familiar varies greatly, with some considering them as pets whereas others see them as little more than tools, but they one and all have them... and make use of them. Depending on the form the familiar might take, they can be used to spy, to aid in daily life, to defend their owner, to take down targets, and countless other options. Why they exist, however, remains unclear.
