Örr

Mlúkrok: Örr /œʁ:/

Örr is the northernmost of the Virrem Islands, an archipelago west of Vorran Peninsula in western Dragonía, and the only one with a permanent settlement, built by the reptilian Kroks from the peninsula. The settlement in question is a monastery which houses a huge archive of Krokish knowledge in various fields, from history to medicine to laws, recorded on stone or metal tablets.
New information is added to the archives via messengers carrying descriptions of notable events throughout the year within each territory, written on dried palm leaves or tree bark by tribal chiefs during their annual gatherings.
While not the oldest of its kind, the monastery on Örr is by far the largest and most prestigious, as it contains knowledge from all over Vorran Peninsula.

Geography

Örr is the only Virrem Island located in the Klalaþan Sea, the ocean west of the continent, while the rest of the archipelago is in the Ilkigit Sea. Due to its position, the influence of the element of Air is felt more prominently than on the other islands in the form of rather windy weather, though the influence of the element of Light is about as strong as on the other islands, resulting in extremely intense sunlight and nights that are almost as bright as day elsewhere in Dragonía.
Because of the latter, nocturnal lifestyle is the norm both among the Kroks and Örr's wildlife, and the sunlight is so strong that it filters slightly through the monastery's walls, allowing the inhabitants to navigate as if they were in the shade of a great tree.

Fauna & Flora

As on the other islands, Örr's wildlife is dominated by invertebrates of all sorts, with only a few species of reptiles and amphibians present. A handful of species of worms, maggots and crickets were brought from the mainland and farmed within the monastery as the monks' main source of food, substituted by snails, crabs, fish, seaweed, nuts and ferns depending on the season.
