The Jolpen and Salpen Clusters

Technically two different clusters, the twin clusters Jolpen and Salpen exist in extreme proximity. Debate raged for decades on whether they were two separate clusters or one large, diffuse cluster. Single Cluster proponents pointed out the multitude of lifeforms existing in both from early points in evolution, not seen in any other separate clusters. Double Cluster proponents countered with waypoints connecting the two, citing that no known waypoints connect to each other within individual clusters, only with outside ones. The debate was finally settled when pockets of inter-cluster gas was discovered between the two, indicating they must have been further apart in the past. Despite this, many refer to the pair as the Twin Clusters instead of differentiating, including locals. Some planetary systems take great pride in coming from Jolpen or Salpen however, and speak of them as separate.
