Talagace is a lone planet in its star system.
Talagace is primarily heated by the Core at the center, which vents out from two holes at the poles. Because of this uneven heating mechanism, the equator is covered in an icy continental ring, making travel between the two hemispheres difficult. This icy equator is difficult to inhabit, and only Torians maintain a constant presence. This ring also separates the water on the planet into two large oceans: Nerua in the north and Thetia in the south. The radiation from the Core also creates a region around each pole that is uninhabitable except by Torians. Despite this unique makeup, the planet still experiences seasons due to its tilt and relative proximity to its star, although they are more mild than seasons found on other planets.
The northern hemisphere has well defined seasons, and overall, is significantly colder than the southern hemisphere. It is more prone to plains, deciduous and evergreen forests, and excluding the area near the pole, gets snow each winter. Two large continents exist in the north.
Arbolisk is the primarily human-populated country with a constitutional monarchy (DJ is the prince). This is where most Jumpers reside, and includes the cities of Erizone, Topica, Medios, Piebald Beach. The official currency is Pips. The northern coast is somewhat tropical, Piebald Beach. Humans colonized the continent several generations ago, leading to them being the most numerous species. However, many other races live in harmony with them, most common being Agesians. Within Arbolisk is also Gatracia Neo, the now-ruined former refugee state located just south of Topica.
Tyflosia is the other large continent. Humans were unable to colonize this area due to unfavorable conditions, although some have found ways to manage. The continent is broken up into four different countries.
Diarmant: The geography of the western half of the continent is cliffs and rocky terrain. It is rich in mineral resources and has good freshwater sources. making food hard to come by or cultivate, so they rely on trade for a lot of food. This is largely populated by a mix of humans and Agesians, but many Torians have also found work in the mines due to its similarity to their home planet of Helkatoryek.
Diarmant is ruled by an alliance of mining and merchant guilds that form an oligarchy. Quillia: The central and southern part of the continent is primarily coniferous forests and taiga, dominated by boreal forests and the native home of the Quillian Agesians, and several other subspecies of Agesian. One of their main resources is lumber, as the large trees here regrow relatively quickly due to their proximity to the Hydra Nexus. Hydra Nexus: To the north of Tyflosia exists the Hydra Nexus, a massive forest. Compared to the forests south of it, this region is much more tropical and almost rainforest-esque. Due to its proximity to the core, plant life grows incredibly quickly, and sentient plants known as ‘flauna’ have evolved here. The natural plant life here regrows quickly, and full trees can regrow within a single day. The Hydra Nexus is ruled by a mysterious group of flauna elders who shun outsiders. Legend says that some of them date back to the time when dragons first settled on the planet, if not even earlier. The chief among these elders is known as the Ancient Hydra. Yossya: The northeastern coast of this continent is where the majority of Dinero settled initially after their exodus from the Dragon Continent of Heidia. A very warm coastal country, largely dominated by swamplands and marshlands leading in towards the Hydra Nexus. Culturally, the majority were too proud to settle on Agesia, and instead went north, settling in the somewhat temperate coast near the pole. Over time, they have become less reclusive and some Agesian and humans have moved to this region, but it remains a largely Dinero run country, and many inhabitants still display the somewhat elitist attitude the race inherited from the Dragons.
Apart from the area near the equator, the southern hemisphere is very warm and almost tropical, due to the planet's orbit giving it a much longer summer, and the larger "pole". The Dinero developed naturally here as Talagace's native races. Unlike the north, the southern hemisphere has no large continents, instead populated by a few smaller continents and two sprawling island clusters.
Heidia: A moderately sized island that is home to primarily dragons, hence it also being called the Dragon Continent. For centuries the dragons studied magic and technology with a scientific rigor and discipline, but abandoned their studies of the former after Darrow discovered the power of petrification, which became Forbidden Magic. Their research led to the development of a number of anti-Core and anti-magic weaponry, one of which was Old Rock. Although the island’s existence is not a secret, the population’s culture is hierarchical and insular and not particularly inviting to outsiders. The island contains mountainous regions with large caverns on the surface and underground. Agesia is a string of several very large islands, housing the Agesians and Dinero population. While many Agesians and Dinero are seen up north, humans are rarely seen down here, as the local population remains rooted in tradition and culture. Most of the non-Agesian population can be found along coastal trade cities and towns, or in the main port capital of Melayawl. Further into the islands, dense foliage and difficult terrain prevent easy travel. Agesians took this as a challenge, building small communities where other species rarely travel. Kiye Archipelago is a series of floating islands fairly close to the southern pole’s volcanic region. This small nation is populated mostly by Agesians, but with a very strong human population. It is a unique tourist attraction, however is also home to many pirates, as the nation is unable to cultivate food, as they have no bodies of water, or minerals to trade with.
