Deehill

Deehill is the largest city in the Barony of Deehill and one of the largest cities in the north of Dorwine. It sits in a crucial location on the shores of the Strange Lagoon and protects the The Hedge Road and acts as a buffer from the badlands of the Swamp of Souls and the Plain of Skulls
  Deehill is also a major market town for all the villages of the Barony. The Deehill Goat Fair is a major market and an important date in the calendars of the people of northern Dorwine.

Government

The economy is struggling under the taxation from Faerchester Citadel The administration of the city is left to the Captain of the Deehill Guards who is quartered in Deehill Keep, which is also where the Baron stays when in the city.

Defences

The city is surrounded by a high stone wall with fortified gates. These walls sit on three sides of the town, whilst the Strange Lagoon sits on the other. North Citadel Village is the one district that sits outside the town walls.
Much of the armed forces of the Barony can be found quartered in Deehill Keep, located in the Kingsthrone District

Industry & Trade

Imports: stone and wax Exports: waront and oils The town is known for its signature spice waront, which is quite acidic.

Guilds and Factions

  • The Carvers’ Guild - a small but quite fractious guild. It is rumoured that the carver Alhhith had the previous guild master assassinated, though nothing can be proven.

History

Deehill was originally founded in 1495 as a satellite settlement of Hoofalls 
  • 1749 - Waront becomes an important crop and export 
  • 2216 - Deehill suffers a huge plague which drastically reduces its population
  • 2434 - Deehill becomes the major city in a new Barony after the establishment of the Barony of Deehill
