Vulyeva: The Shadows that Trickle In

Vulyeva: The Shadows that Trickle In is a nonfiction book about Vulyeva, Fate of Shadows, written by Sanescin Lenio. The book is centered around who Vulyeva really was and what her places of worship were like.

Description

A red leather-bound with a bland appearance, yet the title of the book is written on the spine in an elaborate gold cursive that seems to move and sway out of the corner of one's eye. The book's paper is a simple papyrus paper with the book's title and the author's name scrawled on the first page. A table of contents can be found on the next page, with a total of five chapters dedicated to explaining everything about Vulyeva.   The copies of the book that managed to survive a 1,000-year trip from Eskǎvaëís to Earth remain in perfect condition by those who took great care of them. If taken care of, the book can last a lifetime or even longer if one is a vampire.

Usage

The books are essential for two factors. The first talked about Vulyeva and her great accomplishments and her followers. The second leaned toward an ancient prophecy written throughout the book in various passages and was always hidden behind some meaning. If one studies the book carefully, one'll come across these passages hidden as sentences or phrases.

Owners

When the book first came out, it was owned by hundreds of thousands of people across Chymoús, and some people on Shálmâne even bought the book. When Eskǎvaëís was destroyed, only a few copies were able to make it abord the HSWW Starfall, one specific copy belonging to Kěith Cheonsa, whose copy was signed by the author. By today's standards (2019 AD), the book is considered a valuable antique from Eskǎvaëís.

The Daunting Wastes

A desolate, dry, craggy land formation, accurately called the Daunting Wastes, that seemingly erupted from nowhere around 1 TDRE was said to have formed naturally over 100 years, and any lifeform that entered its domain would grow sick and eventually die. The sky was always stormy and shadows reached up from the earth like it was trying to drown the world in perpetual darkness.   If humanoids could traverse the land, like Sanescin Lenio, there would be a possibility of coming across the famed Tomb of Shadows, a place of worship to Vulyeva, the celestial connected to the shadows. The shadows that live there seem to radiate energy connected to Vulyeva, as reported in findings within the book.

Tomb of Shadows

The Tomb of Shadows is the only know temple dedicated to Vulyeva. However, instead of humans carving out a rockface to build the temple, it seemed connected to a cavern that led deep into the ground. Inside were a set of seven stained glass murals with a dark purplish flame that continuously burns.   The longer Sanescin researched the tomb, the weirder things became. The tomb appeared to be as old as the Daunting Wastes and none of the structures were built by mortal hands. Not even the stained glass murals were natural!
The Stained Glass Murals
The very stained glass murals of the tomb were the pinnacle of Sanescin's book. While carvings of spiders, ravens, and shadowy whisps were decorated around the tomb, nothing could compare to the unique designs of the murals. Above the murals was a carving of words written in the Ezosa language. Sanescin described the wording as crude and almost indecipherable if it weren't for the similar writing on each mural. The very writing above the murals was written to read: "By Shadows None, The Boy Must Awaken."   Sanescin studied the murals closely, hoping to understand the meaning behind the tomb. Each one contained a depiction of a young male committing a different act, and Sanescin sketched each mural out to put into his book while also translating the lines around the murals that seemed to create a prophecy when read in order.

Sanescin Lenio: "The prophecy on the murals reads as follows:

Awaken the hidden blood to cure the plight,
Reach for the tree that builds affright,
Shade the hive with the colored sight,
Misty mornings bring out the lies with smite,
Trample past the fears that shroud the light,
Sever the hold of the mist's might,
Wash the lightning away by moonlight."

Content

Each chapter of the book discusses a different part of Vulyeva, such as who she is and how she came to be. In correct order, the chapters first start with Vulyeva's birth and helping to bring order to the vast space. Next, it delves into her temple and followers, how Vulyeva remained in power for centuries and even those who tried to overthrow her and claim she betrayed her brothers and sisters, the Fates. The final chapters are on the Tomb of Shadows, the prophecy, and what it could mean in the future.
