The shining legions of the Dawn Guard are the Emperor's personal guard and protectors of the Realm. They are sworn directly to
Emperor Davistan XIV and his kin, and safeguard the Emperor's interests in civilized lands.
Founded by the first Emperor Davistan at the founding of
The Dawning Empire, these guardians are the sacred defenders of the rising sun. Often idolized in Daënfel culture, aspiring knights from across the continent seek to join their storied ranks and claim the benefits of being one of the Emperor's elite chosen.
Based primarily in
Hope, the city of Dawn, these Knights reside in their golden fortress known as The Beacon, close by to the Imperial palaces of the Emperor. At dawn, the sunrise glints off of Lake Lumelor and onto the fortress, reflecting golden light across the valley for a short while.
During the
First and
Second Federation War, the Dawn Guard earned much respect as the leaders and commanders of the Empire's troops, breaking the siege of
Port Montague, the occupation of
Sage's Rest and dispatching the initial landing party at
Crater Cove.
The storied legends of that time are long since passed, with the most notable amongst their ranks today being Legate
Amon'dir, who was embroiled in much controversy with the nobles of
Dol Gadmen in his youth.
