Port Montague

One of the arteries of the Empire's river trade, Port Montague is home to the best shipwrights and woodcarvers of the continent. The shoreline of this bay a forest of masts and rigging, with a constant bustle of people amongst the dockyards of the port. On land, the saws and furnaces of industry never cease, with new innovations and techniques for shipbuilding regularly coming out of this centre for progress.
Governance falls to the noble Beaumont family, who are the ancestral rulers of the city and champion the city's pursuit of technological advancement. The Beaumont's often have a close tie with the Empire's naval leadership, as until the recent establishment of the city of Whitehaven Port Montague is the historical centre of naval power for both the Empire and The Kingdom of Eá-galwen before it.
Sanctuary Island, which lies just outside the city near the old sea-gates of Eá-galwen, is a home to ancient ruins that predate the Empire, as well as a colony of monk seals.
