This men's club was formed in 1920 as a solution to Prohibition, and membership is by invitation only. Of the 80 or so members, most are businessmen, professionals, or tenured professors from the University. The small mansion is open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. six nights a week.   Social drinking, cards, billiards, and conversation are the major activities; excessive drunkenness is cause for expulsion.   Cost of joining is $320 plus monthly dues of $15; drinks at the bar are 40 cents.
