Krh'shi'sn Tribe

The Krh'shi'sn pride themselves on their strong identity as hunters and warriors. They were the last holdouts in The Lizardfolk Wars, eventually giving up their offensive campaign against the fortified cities of the Coralous Union, but never losing any of their territory during the conflict.   The tribe holds the Central Wetlands, bordering on three sizable cities in the Coralous Union; Two Pines, Riverbend, and Zettersberg. Despite their close proximity to Nettle Lake, they have no formal contact with the people living there thanks to the natural boundary the lake itself provides.   Because the peoples of Zettersberg and Two Pines aren’t interested in expanding into the marshlands of the tribe’s territory, a cessation of hostilities exists between them and the Krh’shi’sn. Riverbend, however, continues to expand north along the Restile River, and westward into the marshes, putting it in constant conflict with the tribe. As a result, the raiders attack any travelers within a day’s walk of the city, assuming they are either members of the enemy “tribe” or their allies. To their credit, this assumption is usually correct.

Structure

Like most lizardfolk tribes around the Union, the tribe is ruled by a single chief, who is selected by the council of elders when the previous chief is deemed unfit to continue ruling. The council of elders serves as a check on the chief's power in situations where the tribe's welfare is considered at risk, but in most cases, the chief has ultimate control over the tribe during their reign.   Despite this, the current tribal chieftain, Ssza'doul, is seen as something of a legend, and is said to have ruled the tribe since long before the forming of the Union, making him (in theory) older than even the eldest of the "elders."
