Nass'isra Lizardfolk

Those Tending the Land

The nass'isra lizardfolk of southern Coralous are much like their kin elsewhere is Golarion, except that they had never encountered the mainland species, like humans and halflings, until the arrival of the settlers from Ebronium. They initially established a policy of "live and let live" so long as their lands were not intruded upon, allowing the settlers to establish their own towns in the area. This did not last long.   Now, a century and a war later, these lizardfolk find themselves as the strangers in a land increasingly dominated by the peoples and customs of the outside world. While some of the tribes have come to accept the presence of their new neighbors, others seek to rekindle the flames of war and drive out the invaders in their lands.

Naming Traditions

Unisex names

The lizardfolk of Coralous Island use descriptive names, such as "Two-spines" or "Long Swimmertail." Hatchlings are given temporary names while they mature, but upon reaching adolescence (about age 10), they take their adult names. Sometimes these are given by a chief or shaman, other times they are derived from their job or skills within the tribe. Occasionally, a lizardfolk adolescent will decide on their own name, though this has only become particularly common since the arrival of the settlers and their strange naming habits.
