Summer Camp 2023
I pledge to attempt to achieve the Diamond badge during July 2023, going for my third straight Diamond badge. I also pledge not to sacrifice my health, friendships, and mental wellness to reach this goal.Time to shake off the rust!
Theme Preparation
Week One: Power
An important thing to keep in mind, should you draw the eye of the One in White, is that he may appear unpredictable at first. That is his game, and it is imperative that you do not fall for it.
- Ilyxxa Gethra, Cataclysmic Coup
Mortal Power
- Altraxia seeking to control Chardovil West
- Ashijan on the verge of war with Vochal
- Crown of Ashijan, Lalrint Nitale, keeping a steady grip on power despite political turbulence
- Infernal Eye Network trying to keep its Agents in line as Nadyra Yvrey defects
Divine Power
- Godmakers, Godslayers, Divine Champion, and Lesser Divine vying for any inch of power they can acquire
- Infernal Eye and the One in White vs. Universe and Nadyra
Trifectas
- Broken Trifectas such as Voidwalkers being treated as inherently dangerous
- Research on the Trifecta being buried or destroyed
Astral Plane
- Glemsi within Yalha seeking to upend the Silver Sights Travel Co.'s vice over the city
- Silver Sights Travel Co. working to maintain its smothering grip over the city and the Astral Sea as a whole.
Week Two: Frontier
Locations
- Vast areas of the Astral Sea remain unexplored
- The City of Oblivion has been abandoned and supposedly haunted for centuries... and now the city stirs.
Knowledge
- Knowledge about the The Multiverse, the Trifecta, and the Divine still being scarce
- New frontier of travel: linked, maintained teleportation circles beginning to be established across Ashijan
Week Three: Relics
Mirror of Binding
- Can bind a soul to a specific plane of existence
- Often blamed for hauntings and souls trapped in the Material Plane
- Theoretically could be used in conjunction with the Shard of Shifting and Seal of Souls to catch, move, bind, and seal a Voidwalker's soul back in their body
Shard of Shifting
- Able to "shift" any part of the Trifecta or object across planes
- Does not require the other party to consent
- Entire beings can be "shifted" at once
Other Relics
- Aura Suppressant: An artifact capable of muting or suppressing the unique magical auras of certain creatures and sorcerers.
- Planar Clock: A clock capable of keeping time even across planes or where time does not exist.
- Vile Dust: ("Dhexol") A potent poison typically found as a powder that is blown into the victim's face and without an antidote proves fatal in ten minutes.
Week Four: Communication
Local Communication
- Many nobles have private Emissaries and servants deliver messages or summon individuals.
- Couriers often deliver to a city or provinence under their charge. In rural areas it's typically just one, cities typically have dozens.
Long Distance Communication
- Some nations, such as Ashijan, have a network of teleportation circles that local Couriers and Emissaries can use to streamline deliveries.
- Military Couriers exclusively carry orders and missives to and from commanders on the front lines. Some have been known to take soldier's letters home and pass them to local Couriers.
- Dispatch Riders typically ride on horseback, carrying small numbers of messages between providences or allied nations. Some governments will send Armed Dispatch riders with them, for protection.
Secret Communication
- Infernal Eye Network members have near-identical badges that communicate rank at a glance, and have a couple select code words to indicate a subject that requires further, private, discussion.
- The Infernal Eye Network also have Network Couriers ferry assignments to Agents and Initiates.
- The Veiled Voice speaks almost exclusively in a myriad of other languages, and its members are required to know multiple languages
- Nobility around the world rarely speak plainly, offering platitudes or veiled threats someone unfamiliar with the political landscape to miss tension between parties.
Inter-Planar Communication
- Silver Sights Travel Co. holds a near-monopoly on communication to the Astral City of Yalha
- Divine entities typically communicate through dreams or visions, or can appear as mortals within Chardovil or a plane of their choosing.
Despite my current health complications making my usual energy difficult, I assure you, beneath this sheen of tired calm, I am prepared to rip these prompts limb from limb alongside the rest of the Camp Feral crew.
Along with joining the Camp Feral crew, I'm also joining in with the Dewy Diamonds and Camp Chill as promises to myself to relax and practice self-care.
WOOO CAMP FERAL! 3 diamonds in a row is a mighty goal - you've got this :D What do you think the other prompt themes might be?
Follow me on Bluesky for more pixel art :D
Oh gods I have no idea what week 4 will be-- 3 just came out as writing this and relics.... dang there's a lot of relics in Chardovil and a handful are plot relevant for the campaigns so finally fleshing these out is a MUST for me :D
