Westbury-on-Trym

Location and Description

A suburban village approximately five kilometres to the north of Bristol city centre.

Geopolitical Significance

Westbury-on-Trym is situated within the Parliamentary constituency of Bristol North West.

Educational Establishments

As well as the uber-posh Badminton School, Westbury-on-Trym is also home to the quite-post Red Maids' School, reputedly the oldest, still-functioning girls' school in England. It was the latter of the two at which Jennifer was educated; put any thought of this fact out of your mind while in her presence for, otherwise, it is not going to be one of your better days.

Notable Residents

After spending her early childhood in Midsomer Norton, Jennifer lived in Westbury-on-Trym (in a semi-detached house on Lyndhurst Road, typical of many a 1930s residential development) until she was seventeen.

Colette lives in flat above a shop on Westbury Hill in the centre of the village.

Not to be Confused With...

Westbury in Wiltshire nor with Westbury, the capital city of the province of Wessex. Any connection it may have with its Calmarendian namesake is undefined.
