Earth: A Reader's Guide

Overview

This Reader's Guide to Earth is not intended to be a comprehensive (or even an accurate) guide to the Earth of the real timeline. Rather it is a guide to the Earth of the alternate timeline, the world as it would have appeared to people like Jennifer and Colette, but limited in scope to background information about places, landmarks and historical events that are of significance to our narrative or the characters within it.

Unless stated otherwise, you should assume that the nations, their geopolitical and administrative subdivisions, together with the buildings and landmarks therein are described as they stood on 10 April 1992. There may be some deviations from the Earth of your reality resulting from the divergence of the timelines and some places which are entirely fictitious --- that is, they should be there in both timelines but, somehow, are not.
