Red Jennifer
Both Jennifer and her fellow Bristol MP Dawn Primarolo had their names prefixed by the word "red" to denote their supposed hard left political leanings. Though it was Jennifer who was originally known by this epithetical style (and rather more aptly, owing to the colour of her hair, it was Primarolo who would become better known by it, perhaps because she rose to national prominence sooner or maybe because "Red Dawn" just sounds so much snappier.

Childhood sweekhearts. Married in 1978. That same-sex marriage was not legal at the time was of no consequence to Jennifer and Victoria. They remain unmarried, in the legal sense, to this day.
“The law will heap upon us all imaginable obligations commensurate with living together as a married couple but will grant us none of the rights, benefits or privileges that should come therewith,” is how Victoria and Jennifer described the law as it stood when they married. “But we don’t care because we love each other and that’s all that matters.”

Jennifer and Victoria love each other as much as two people ever could be in love with one another but there is one thing that separates them: Jennifer has, shall we say, a more than healthy sexual appetite, Victoria’s is sporadic at best. It’s not that Victoria does not find Jennifer (or other women, for that matter) physically attractive, because she does, but only rarely does aesthetic pleasure tip over into sexual arousal. For those moments when it does, Victoria has developed subtle ways of alerting her partner to the fact.
When it happens, their lovemaking is gentle and exquisite. It matters not to Jennifer that Victoria often gets far more out of the experience than Jennifer herself; all that matters is Victoria’s pleasure and happiness. Jennifer will never force herself upon her partner, not just as a matter of common decency but to ensure that, however infrequently it happens, Victoria can enjoy it to the maximum extent possible and on her own terms.
There is a quid pro quo, however, and that is Victoria being accepting of Jennifer finding sexual gratification where she may.
