Calmarendi
The Cal star system, located in the galaxy which you may know as Bode’s Galaxy, M81 or NGC 3031, comprises a large, blue star, Cal A, a far-flung red dwarf companion, Cal B, and an indeterminate number of planets, at least one of which, Calmarendi, is inhabited.

Calmarendi is a world that, to our eyes and to those of our Earthly protagonist, Jennifer, is at once reassuringly familiar and yet jarringly similar to our own. It is, however, a world that feels rather outdated, a little rough around the edges, shabby even, yet it has been thus, unchanging, for centuries, longer than history, such as it is, can show as ever having been any different.
