Golíatlendir (Alliance)

The Golíatlendir Alliance is compromised of the Dragonborn, Firbolg, Dwarf and Goliath people; the later being the namesake for the alliance. They have survived for hundreds of years on the northwestern coast of Erandor and do the most possible to keep to themselves, although they will trade with most willing parties. Their citizens are frequently called upon to be raiding parties and mercenaries for hire due to their diverse training and specialties, and have been on multiple sides of multiple wars, never at the same time, of course...

Public Agenda

As each member state has relatively limited land, they each share what they can to make life in their environments more bearable. As such, a strong community has been formed. It is said that they also serve another purpose that only their higher ranking members know of, but it is unknown if that is simply a rumor or if there is any truth to it at all.

Assets

Between the four people, the majority of the material wealth comes from the metals mined in the the dwarven megalopolis, Gemheart, however, the coastal settlements of Drekarströnd, Úrkoma, and Hvalasöngur all contribute with manpower, maritime products, timber, whale oil, diverse seafood, and more.

History

In the first few decades after The Shatter the planes trembled and spilled much of their essence into the world. One of the more severe results was the arrival of the Krakens into the world. One of them, a leviathan by the name of Xeloss wreaked such immense devastation on the northwestorn coast of the continent that the waters of the frozen sea rose and reached the foothills of The Greater Cairnheels. By this point, the current members of the Golíatlendir(Alliance) had no choice but to band together, flee, or face destruction. Through a unified effort, the newly formed alliance tricked Xeloss to begin climbing the mountain range. With total victory apparently near, Xeloss followed. But, when they began tumbling large boulders down on the calamity, it knew it had been tricked. Xeloss fought ferociously as he summoned lightning to strike at the defenders on their peaks and escarpments. 

Many hundreds perished, but a cunning group of scouts slipped by unnoticed with a new dwarven invention. The scouts planted series of explosive charges along the mountain and, at the signal, set them off. The sight of the massive creature tumbling down the side of the mountain and crashing to the base of the mountain shook the earth for many miles around. In a desperate attempt to retreat, Xeloss bid the oceans rise again to expedite his escape. Anticipating this, a ring of chains held up by felled trees would float up as the water rose, trapping Xeloss just long enough for a group of mages to drop a severed mountaintop on the vile creature. These brothers and sisters in arms took the lessons of the endeavor to heart and the leaders of each of the groups formalized a more comprehensive agreement later that same year.
