Breakfast cereals
As in our world, breakfast cereal is popular in many parts of Borgalor, with a number of different brands and varieties available. They are usually added into milk (most commonly from cows, goats, reindeer, llamas or mares) or yogurt, or eaten plain as snacks.
Narúrt and Lúrk are among the few regions where this food remains uncommon, as tubers, vegetables, eggs or fish are preferred breakfast in many narúrtic goblin cultures on one hand, and cereals are absent in traditional cyclopean cuisine one the other.
The boxes often contain promotional toys, collectibles or -more recently- game demos on Cylinders.
Hmargic: Húmrók /huːmɺoukh/
Produced in Agg-Ahlún, húmrók are spherical and made from barley with coconut or dried fruit filling. Each variation has its own mascots, all of whom are different species of bats.
Axaxic: Jöxö /jœksœː/
Jösö are semicircular and made from sweetened barley, produced in Ninnirt Zö and inspired by cakes called jöxö made by the goblin Axaxans during first or last quarter lunar phase. A plain variation is also sold at Yellow Fast, during which observant Njóþans are expected to abstain from sugar and other seasonings, save for salt. The mascot for Jösö is a dragonfly, associated with the moon in njóþan folklore, usually depicted holding a bowl of jösö or -during Yellow Fast- praying.
Lil are produced in Jolþ and one of the most popular breakfast cereals in Þjaris, shaped like arrowheads and made from millet. The mascot is Ræfala, an archer inspired by a legendary figure in þjaric history.
Sanfja are striped hexagons made from oats and flavoured with honey, produced in Fjún. The mascot is a queen bee dressed like old maþúlan royalty.
Produced in Erenúm, Úðúr are made from barley, flavoured with pine nuts and shaped to resemble pine needles.
Zúmix are made from Star Oats and shaped like four-armed stars that come in different colours. It's one of the most popular númran breakfast cereals in the Southlands and Borgalor in general. The mascots are anthropomorphic stars, one for each colour.
