Njóþic

Njóþic: Njóþku /ɲouːθkhuː/
Njóþic1 is a dwarven language spoken primarily by the Njóþans in southeastern Jælondis and Q'eillans in the northern Southlands, respectively, and widely taught as a second language in Kikra and other countries in eastern and southern Jælondis.
Several different dialects of njóþic exist, most of which are found in eastern and northern hinterlands of Ninnirt Zö, while standard njóþic is based on the one spoken in and around Jopf, the country's capital to the south. The former colony of Tos Q'eillen has its own dialect as well, which is influenced by üllemic and orcish hmargic.

Writing System

Njóþic is written using an alphabet similar to the one written in Llilóta to the west, both of which are derived from the eheric one used in the southern Qug Mountains. Like the kikrönic one, though that one is based on the pfiqelan alphabet, the letters have curves as well as straight lines, a feature that is absent in the highland dwarven varieties due to later and more gradual adoption of parchment, papyrus and paper compared to the eastern lowlands.

Vocabulary

Centuries of contact with various different ethnic groups, peaceful and otherwise, have introduced a number of words and concepts into the njóþic language, from names of local fauna, flora and places used by native human tribes in the distant past, to words related to democracy and spices from Örkraz, to technical terms used for industrialization, crystal-powered devices and advanced runecraft from the Qug Mountains, Narúrt and Númra.
