Narúrt

Þrínic: Narúrt /naːruːrth/

Narúrt is the eastern, goblin-dominated part of the region of Ójom in eastern Jælondis, between the river Úkún and Bexran Lake on one hand and the Þnisic Sea on the other, as opposed to primarily dwarven territory in the central and eastern areas.
Between the ninth and seventh century, goblin civilization extended as far inland as the eastern edge of the K'aflúll Hills in central Ójom, and to this day, some goblins refer to this area -or even all of Ójom- as Narúrt as well1 even though only a couple of small goblinic-speaking communities remain in the region, namely the Axaxans and Hílabans.
Aside from goblins, Narúrt is also home to Narúrtic Dwarves, whose ancestors formed a caste of stonemasons and brewers during the empires of Onþók and especially Ama, as well as small communities hailing from Ytvía, the Maralon Steppe and Kröþa.

Geography

Much like the rest of Ójom, Narúrt is characterized by an overall rugged terrain consisting of woodlands, rivers, brackish and freshwater swamps and lakes, and outside major cities like Irhar, Tæx and Þrín and surrounding fields and pastures, much of the land has been left virtually untouched as the local populations are usually concentrated around the coast and rivers and traditionally prefer waterways for transportation rather than roads.

1Scholars in Terúk and Brelt in particular usually call these combined modern and historical regions Greater-Narúrt.
