Hílabans
Hílabic: Hílabel /ʜilabel/ , hílabeel /ʜilabeːl/
Axaxic: Hílabel /ʜilabɛl/ , hílabeel /ʜilabɛːl/
The hílabans1 are a predominantly goblin ethnic group inhabiting Kikra in eastern Jælondis, particularly the eastern part of the country and to lesser extend the capital of Llaz to the west. Like the Axaxans in Ninnirt Zö to the south, they are descendants of Onþókans who once ruled much of eastern and central Ójom, and were spared as the native Dwarves drove most of them back to the land beyond the river Úkún and Bexran Lake. The name is derived from Hlaportar, a province of Onþók which encompassed most their current home.
Unlike axaxans, who are generally well liked by the dwarven Njóþans due to siding with them in the past, the hílabans often face discrimination at the hands of Kikrans and narúrtic dwarven communities and are more insular as a result. Their language, hílabic, is only used on daily basis by the older generations and are considered moribund, while most speak east-kikrönic dialects, though often peppered with words and phrases of hílabic origin.
Notable hílaban dishes include lamb with steamed mandrakes and mustard, and fish with garlic sauce.

While the majority of hílabans now live in kikran-style semi-subterranean homes, traditional shrines and wooden stilt houses can still be found in more remote villages.Cuisine
Hílaban cuisine is based on fish and fowl, mutton, various tubers and bulbs, usually steamed and served with mustard and ale, with some dishes resembling those eaten in the goblin country of Brelt to the east and others incorporating kikran cooking. Many of these fusion dishes, once common among eastern kikrans as well as hílabans, are now only made by the latter due to kikrans wanting to distance themselves from their onþókan legacy. The meat of Giant Rats, ubiquitous in most goblin cuisines, has been supplanted by rabbits or pork for the most part.Notable hílaban dishes include lamb with steamed mandrakes and mustard, and fish with garlic sauce.
