Erenic

Erenic: Erenjolez /ɛːrɛnjɔlɛːz/
Þamtic: Derðafei /tɛːrðafei/

Erenic is a jútrilían elven language spoken primarily by Erens inhabiting the republic of Erenúm (where it is an official language), as well as smaller communities in Orgoll, Agg-Ahlún, Fjún and Númra. It belongs to the eastern branch of the emaric languages, with maþúlic and fjúnic forming the eastern one.

Writing System

Like þamtic spoken in neighbouring Þamta to the west, erenic is written using an abugida, in which consonants are depicted with letters and vowels with markings.
The main difference between the two writing systems is that vowels are marked at the top of a letter in erenic and at the bottom in þamtic, and erenic letters are overall more complex as well.
Erenic was originally written with an alphabet much like maþúlic, but the increasing use of Danþalic, a spoken and written language once used by traders throughout Jútrilía, led to the creation of several writings system inspired by danþalic abugida.
The modern script is based on the one initially used in the capital of Kúð, and virtually the only ones who still study and write with other letters are scholars or hobbyists, with the exception of Paðiz, a newspaper printed in northern Erenúm which still uses an archaic letter for Z.
