In recent years, you have been able to use a few thousand Anvil coins during the WA stream and Dimi from WA sent you on a special mission in your world during Worldember or the summer camp to expand it. Unfortunately, there was no Dimi mission this Worldember, which may have disappointed some of you, but there was a small call to create your own. In addition, Annie Stein had the great idea of sending some Anvils on a small nnie-mission during WE 2023, which I also followed. I hadn't actually planned to create these missions, but during the last week I spontaneously offered two beloved Anvils a mission, both of whom accepted. For this reason, I decided to create Blue Missions.
What are Blue Missions?
Like Dimi and Annie, I will look around your world and send you on a year-long mission. A mission can be about anything: expanding your world through writing/maps/pictures etc., expanding stubs, community tasks, designing your articles and worlds ...
If you accept your task, you have exactly one year to complete your mission. You don't have to worry that I'll go overboard and send you on an impossible mission, ask you about the status of your mission, or if real life happens and you don't complete the mission, I'll not hold it against you. However, I will collect your mission here and save it as a promise with your one-year deadline.
You have the opportunity to join at any time. So you don't have to decide today. However, I will initially limit the number of missions to a maximum of 15 and will allow requests again later depending on my time management. I ask for your understanding. I am not planning an end date for this event, but if the demand for missions decreases, I will decide whether to stop this "challenge" or continue it anyway.
Simple rules
- Write to me in the comments if you would like a mission from me and please add a link to your world if you got more than one world on WorldAnvil.
- After your request, I will look around your world within the next two weeks and assign you a mission.
- Your mission is non-negotiable! Please do not question your mission assignment. It is a recommendation to improve your world - you do not have to take the mission. There is no shame in saying, "Thank you for your offer," and if you decline, you do not owe me an explanation.
- I will ask you if you accept the mission. Then you have two weeks to decide.
- As soon as you accept your mission, I will save your mission here and disclose your deadline.
- If you do not accept or forget to respond within the next two weeks, your mission will expire and you will have to wait until next year to make a new request.
- A mission can consist of subtasks - e.g. Write 6 articles or write a pitch and make a map. With 6 articles, each article would be a subtask - with a pitch and a map, that would be two subtasks for your mission. But just because you may only be given one or two sub-tasks doesn't necessarily make it easier to complete. If I only give you one or two sub-tasks, I'm scheduling your time available for the mission.
- Everyone who accepts their mission will receive a simple Blue Missions badge in the end of their year and in addition a special Blue Missions badge if they fully fullfilled their mission.
- Please let me know what the final status of your mission is in the comments and send me an article block showing your mission result.
- It would be nice if you could point out this "challenge" in your mission. Thanks in advance.
