Vorashodai Item in Binaka | World Anvil

Vorashodai

The Vorashodai is the sacred text of Shiŗoshodai. It was written during the first age, before the rise of the first Wizard King.   The book describes a series of rituals claiming to bring Árak or his powers to the ritualist. It was written during one of the many times Árak was imprisoned by his adoptive family by a person desperate for power. That person claimed the words written in it came to them in a series of dreams.   It is unknown whether the rituals of the tome have the full power they claim, as they must be performed in a specific order and the order is not shared within the book. In fact the book insists that the rituals are not in order in the book and the order cannot be known by mortals. That has not stopped many individuals in the intervening millennia from attempting to go through the rituals.   The book is currently in the hands of Shiŗoshodai and has been since it was first discovered in the ruins of a temple by Sholtaish naqī Niok and Aubish naqī Vibdī. Sholtaish studied the book and did research for the rest of his life, trying to determine the proper order of the rituals. His adopted daughter, Tinaul qī Narat joined in the research and continues the research to the present day. She believes she is close and in fact knows the order of the first several rituals. Most of her machinations through the years have been in service of implementing the necessary preconditions for the rituals in the book.
