Árak Character in Binaka | World Anvil

Árak

God of Corruption

(a.k.a. The Corruptor, Kai Dīnanil)

Árak is the god of Corruption. He is the adopted son of Koavurpé and Bváŗuvéshi. He joined them when they found an infant alien with no apparent support from others of his species. As it turned out, Árak's species is an ancient race of shapeshifters who were unknown to Koavurpé and Bváŗuvéshi. As he grew, he took on the relative appearance of those who raised him; thus he looks very much like a human, as do the rest of the gods.

Personal history

Note: Most of this history is unknown to any of the other gods or indeed to anyone on Binaka. Fáazuk may know more of this, but if he does (did?) he has never shared the information with anyone else.

Before Koavurpé

Árak has a long history of destruction. He has destroyed civilizations, worlds, solar systems, and galaxies. He has been known as Blünarnsh the Feared; Mlangïsh the Despised; Vaá’brasht, Destroyer of Worlds; and untold many other names.

Meeting Koavurpé

Lone survivor of world-spanning civilization. Found by Koavurpé and Bváŗuvéshi in a room with wilted and dying plants. Had the appearance of a young child. Adopted by the couple and named Árak because of the dying plants around him.

History

When Árak decided he did not have enough influence among the gods, he turned himself into a woman and seduced his young adopted brother Shönäl, hoping to have a child whom he could control. He gave birth to Koďö, the god of war and conflict.

History

Koďö is the result of deceptive union of Árak and his adoptive brother Shönäl, when Árak seduced his adoptive brother in the form of a woman. Koďö has always hated being a pawn for Árak. But for Árak, this was just relieving some of his jealousy, although he's actually somewhat proud of his son for being his own person and helping to sow the corruption of civilation by promoting war as a solution.
