Tsugoth Settlement in Biethal | World Anvil

Tsugoth

Tsugoth is one of the oldest cities of Kingdom of Erikadia. It lies on the eastern coast of the Erikan Isthmus and is the second great port on the Jukano Gulf.   The city is most know for its ancient ties to Dragons. It's name comes from old Mercadion for Dragons Roost.

Government

The government of the city falls to the Grand Duke of Tsug, who appoints a mayor referred to as the Drakonig which acts like a mayor.

History

Before the First Era, the site that became Tsugoth was home to a powerful dragon named Talifrey. Unlike other dragons of that day, Talifrey did not wish for isolation, but instead brought all manner of peoples under his great wings. In doing so Talifrey became the first Dragon King ruling in the city of Tsugoth. This remained the case until the founder of Mercadion Empire, Carcanus killed Talifrey in single combat.   This ended the rule of Dragons in Tsugoth, and brought about the dominance of Humans in the region. Still though the city was the most diverse in the early empire, with a multitude of Cognizana making their home here, most notably Dragonborn, and few Half-Dragons. Rumors abound that many dragons in human form make their home here as well, though this has never been properly recorded.

Architecture

The most notable buildings in the city are the Dragon House, and the Ducal Palace. The Dragon House is an ancient and magnificent temple dedicated to the worship of dragons. It rivals the size and scope of the Cathedral of Mercad or the Perith Basicilica, and is much older than them.
