Cathedral of Mercad
The Cathedral of Mercad is the main church of the Temple of Sevina in the city of Erikadia City. While it is the seat of the High Priest of Sevina it is not the most important church, as that is the Perith Basicilica. It is the building where the King of Erikadia and the Emperor of Erikadia are crowned, and where most major religious functions required of the monarch are held.
Purpose / Function
This cathedral was built to be the link between the Temple of Sevina and the Kingdom of Erikadia. Later monarchs felt that it was dangerous having the religious center of their nation so far from temporal center of the nation. In order to compromise the Cathedral was built as seat for the High Priest of Sevina, but the Council of Prestors still hold there annual council at Holy City of Perith.
