Temple of Sevina
The Temple of Sevina is the civil religion of the Kingdom of Erikadia and later the Empire of Erikadia. It is headed by the High Priest of Sevina, and worships the goddess Sevina, who is the patron of the state.
Structure
The Highest Ranking member of the Temple is the High Priest of Sevina, followed by the Prestors who oversee regional temples in major cities, and serve on the Council of Prestors.
Most minor temples are staffed by Priests, and beneath them are the Acolytes, and finally the newest members of the clergy are the initiates.
Public Agenda
The Temple acts as a moral guide for the Kingdom of Erikadia, in order that it stays in Sevina's good graces and will continue to prosper.
Assets
The Temple has plenty of gold in the form of tithes, and temples or shrines in most cities and towns.
Mythology & Lore
Sevina was once an earthly woman of the ancient city of Mercadion She served as the founder for the Mercadion state, and died in battle. As she was struck down she was raised up to be a god, and has watched over the Mercadion Empire, and its successor state the Kingdom of Erikadia.

Cult of Aurelia Sabina from the ancient days of the Second Era and the Mercadion Empire. The church was reformed after the founding of the Kingdom of Erikadia.
Cosmological Views
The nation that exists on the Erikan Isthmus is the most important nation in the world. Whatever happens in the world, when empires fall, and nations dissolve, but Sevina will always watch over her people, over her land, and over her city.
Worship
Worship in the temple focuses around an Altar or shrine the basic elements of which are a bowl, two candles, and an icon of Sevina. The style and size of the altar differs based upon regional availability of materials and the wealth of the temple. The Cathedral of Mercad in Erikadia City uses a bowl made of solid gold, encrusted with gems, and a platinum inlay of the deification of Sevina, along with several gold plated surrogate bowl for the large congregation. On the other side, in a small country shrine, the ceremonial bowl would simply be a hand carved wooden bowl.
Worship services focus a clergy member who gives instruction and a reading from the Sevine Text, usually accompanied by a reading from Sevina's Blessed Host about a particular beatus.
Special services are given on the Ultinel Day at the end of each season as well, the only time that the temple gives worship to deities other than Sevina, though these services still focus on Her relationship to these other dieties.
Priesthood
The Temple is lead by the High Priest of Sevina, who leads the temple as Sevina's ordained on the material plane. The High Priest serves in the Cathedral of Mercad to serve the nation of Erikadia's reginning monarch. Below, but not subordinate to the High Priest are the Presters, whom maintain temples in the largest cities of the kingdom and oversea regions called Dioceses. Smaller cities are served by Bishops and priests.
Political Influence & Intrigue
The Temple is very closely tied to the ruling of the Kingdom of Erikadia. When succession for the throne is disputed, usually the Council of Prestors is called for the final decision.
