The Floating City of Mimir

Demographics

In the floating city, most of the residents are on the magical spectrum in some regard as well as many others who are not spellcasters that simply come to reside in the city either due to its security or possibly the daily source of entertainment from the odd bard or wild magic sorcerer practicing their magic. Welcoming all races it is not unusual to see various races present in Mimir be it traveling elves from the Forests of Eldamar or the dragonborns of the Nephite Empire

Government

The floating city is overseen by the Council of Seven a group of seven strong spellcasters that each represent an individual school of magic. With no school being considered superior to another decisions are left to a majority vote. Due to the nature as the city's final defense the Council while powerful is unable to leave the city so as to best protect it from any and all attacks.

Foreign Relations

Most that visit the city of Mimir are those that hope to enlist the services of a spellcaster or purchase a magic item from the many magical artisans throughout the floating islands. From browsing the public section of the Arcanis Library to watching lectures at the Institute the city of Mimir is open to all that travel to its borders.

Defences

Built on a collection of floating islands the Floating City has a natural defense against invasions by land, Mimir is also is well defended by the many mages and spellcasters that reside in the city with either those from the Arcanis Library or the Institute of Magical Learning leading in the defense.

Industry & Trade

Due to a large amount of research into the studying and creation of magic items, there are various places in Mimir in which someone can either look for a specific magic item or commission the creation of lesser magic items which provides a steady profit to the city. From magewrights to magic tattoo artists many artisans that create through their magic set up shops in Mimir either to sell to their fellow spellcasters or the commonfolk that visit the city.

Guilds and Factions

While some of the mages and or spellcasters that made a home for themselves in Mimir are independent most of the magically inclined in the city either work for the Arcanis Library and its various research branches or study or work at the Institute of Magical Learning. These two factions are on good terms with one another and often collaborate on topics of high importance. Both groups while autonomous in nature answer to the Council of Seven with regards to matters of the utmost importance that pose either a threat to the city or to the realm as a whole.

Very cool city. Nicely done.
