Infrastructure

To better transport goods around the city and help combat the heat of the desert deep canals were built throughout the city allowing small cargo ships to move large shipments at ease. Running from the coastline salt water flows in and then out of the city where it is drawn by the many people living within the city walls to be turned into clean drinking water. The city of Brightshore also boasts the largest shipyard and port of all the cities on the two continents, being the seat of trade many ships are constantly coming and going from its bustling port.

Guilds and Factions

The three leading money controlling groups, The Balworth Trading Company which owns a majority of the docks of the city and has a monopoly on shipping off the continent, The Sunstone Union made up of many individual merchants and businesses, and the Baset Family that controls the Black Cat casino and lounge and comes from old money. Together these three groups form the Merchant's Guild and they oversee all that happens in the city.

History

Originally established as an outpost to better explore the continent of Litore, Brightshore quickly grew as the expansion into the new continent grew. Becoming a haven for merchants and traders it wasn't until the maker city of Elderburrow was built in the Redrust Pass that Brightshore became known around the world, through the selling of the high-quality products made in Elderburrow many were able to make their start in Brightshore permanently establishing the coastal city as the place to be.

Architecture

Built from the sandstone of the Crimson Sea most if not all of the buildings in Brightshore are of pale yellows and deep reds that are common in the desert environment. Depending on the building there might be accents of gold and other brighter colors to show off and distinguish themselves from others based on the owner's wealth. Due to the higher than average heat at points, a lot of homes and businesses in the city have open roofs usually covered in cloth to prevent sand from falling inside and provide better ventilation.

Geography

Built on the coastal edge of the Crimson Sea the city of Brightshore stands as the only settlement that remains among the red sand dunes of the desert landscape. Canals built into the sandstone allow salt water to flow throughout the city which is used to provide clean fresh water as well as provide water to the small fields residing outside the city walls.

Natural Resources

The biggest resource for the city is in fact its coastal location, residing in a perfect location allows trade and transport to be much easier and efficient compared to any other place.
