Red Lake
A large lake in north-central Eregoth, where the Kennelly River transforms from a small foothills stream into a large, sprawling river that separates the country into east and west.
Geography
The area around Red Lake is a mix of forested hills and fertile lowlands. North and northeast are the lands of House Fenheart. To the west are the lands of House Oakenshield. East is House Rancourt, while to the south the Kennelly leads to the lands of House Cervantes and the capital of Eregoth, Tolara.
Red Lake bore a dark secret, however. In its depths lay Lord Sozkeden Valkar, dread vampire and the 14th Lord of Eregoth. Bound by chains of adamentine and magic, Lord Valkar lay at the bottom of Red Lake for centuries, awaiting a time when he could become strong enough to break his chains. The Battle of Red Lake spilled so much blood into the Lake that Lord Valkar was able to break his chains and rise again, taking to the field to reclaim his lands and titles.
