Floral

Blending the beauty of flowers and the ferocity of dragons, floral dragonborn take after the mysterious and majestic floral dragons. Rather than the bold metallic or chromatic scales of their dragonborn kin, their coloring evokes the delicate or vibrant shades of f lowers, and they share as many traits with plants as they do with dragons.

Wild seeds

The first floral dragonborn emerged long ago as infants born to dragonborn parents. From the moment of their birth, it is clear that floral dragonborns are different from their dragonborn kin. As they grow to adulthood, their plantlike nature becomes more obvious—buds, blossoms, and leaves begin to sprout, mimicking the flowery frills and manes of floral dragons. They come to resemble the floral dragon they take after far more than their own parents.

What causes a floral dragonborn to be born is hotly debated. Some believe that parents spending a lot of time around a floral dragon is enough to infuse an unborn child with a floral essence. Others think that eating certain plants or vespon honey can influence their birth. The existence of floral dragonborn who take after elusive or antisocial floral dragons indicates that whatever the cause, proximity is not always necessary. Today, enough generations have passed since they first began to appear that many floral dragonborn are also born to floral dragonborn parents. Depending on their dragonborn clan and the type of flower the infant takes after, the arrival of a f loral dragonborn child may be celebrated as a sign of good fortune or a sign or an omen of disaster.

Call of Nature

Floral dragonborns are shaped by the cultures they grow up within. However, they also experience a deep sense of belonging and interconnectedness to natural environments. As living bridges between the three worlds of plants, dragons, and humanoids, many floral dragonborns feel a responsibility to maintain the balance between them. T he plant-like nature of floral dragonborns can also influence their personalities and attitudes. Just as trees and flowers change with the seasons, floral dragonborns can find themselves becoming restful in winter, energetic in spring, creative in summer, and somber in fall. They can also be particularly sensitive to pollution and changes in the environment.

History

Dragonborn are a humanoid looking dragon with scales, fanged, and occasionally tails. They tend to look like a mix between a human and one of the characteristics of the main 15 dragon types (Metallic, Chromatic, and Dragonborn came into the universe during the third era (Draconic Era). A dragon born can be created in three ways.

The first discovered and most common for the metallic variety, during the third era, was when a dragon in humanoid form mated with a mortal.

The second, and the most used by chromatic dragons upon their slaves, was to do a ritual that turns a mortal into a dragon born. While this happened mostly to those being controlled by chromatic dragons, occasionally metallic dragons would also do this to favored servants or as a favor.

The third, and most common now, is when a Dragonborn breeds with one another.

The Floral Dragonborn are a new race thought to be the creation of the newly created floral dragons of the Fractured Era. Being a new races means there are very few around a not much is known about them.
