Aesthral Sea
The Astral sea was the territory of the Gods, while the Eather belonged to the Primordials, of course this was before the universe shattered. Long ago during the primal war the Astral and Ethereal planes were separated, but not anymore. During the primal war the two planes were crossed and convoluted by the fighting deities and their armies that the two planes started to intermix due to their energies colliding. The exact reason is still unknown for this transformation.
Around their respective areas one can find pure forms of both. The elemental for the Ethereal and around the outer planes for the Aether. But everywhere else both energies can be found, requiring specialized ships to be built, also known as Spelljammers.
Other names that also mean the Aesthral sea is The Wildplanes, The Final Frontier, Space, and The Dark Sea.
Traveling through the Aesthral sea is a very dangerous. Due to the Demiplane clusters, the Outer Planes, and the Elemental Planes all rotating and spinning, it is almost impossible to navigate, unless you have a Cartomancer. Cartomancers specialize in choosing routes and navigating through this perilous place, through maps connected to the Prime Beacon.
Those that reside in the Aesthral sea do not need to eat and do not age within the sea. But once you leave the hunger and time will quickly catch up to what it should’ve been. This is why Spelljammers radiate time and air spheres.
It is also possible for mortals to Astral project into the sea.
