Lordship of Mitaud
Structure
The Lordship of Mitaud is a small, but influential Sovereignty, drawing most of its power from its bridge and port along the Gwilen River. Its capital of La Roch oversees the smaller towns of Nivilieg, Aelwez[, and Tehelieg each of which is overseen by a Machtiern. The Lords of Mitaud exert a good deal of control over the region, due to its small size.
Public Agenda
Mitaud utilizes its bridge and port to exert considerable influence over the politics of Naoned, and by extension Letha despite its small size.
History
The town of La Roch was founded by the Monks of the Abbey of Sant-Gweltas during the reign of Dug Alan IV.
Demography and Population
Mitaud is made up of a mix of Bediz, Korrigan and Fomorii.
The Kornikaned - The Kornikaned have a large presence in the East of the region, near Ogre's Forest.
The Kriores - The Jetins Kriores have a small community in La Roch, overseeing the river trade, while the Gargantuans operate a lead mine in the East.
The Poulpiquet - The Poulpiquet have several large communities East of La Roch along the Gwilen River
The Teuz - The Korrigan of the Meadows are largely found in La Roch or in the South of the region.
The Fomorii - The Fomorii are found in La Roch, where they build fishing ships for the Mor Bihan.
Territories
The Lordship of Mitaud is located in the Northwest corner of the County of Naoned against the South Bank of the Gwilen River. To the Southwest, the Barony of Gwenrann follows the river, while the Southeast is taken up by Biskonti Naoned.
Mitaud, despite its small size, is an important crossroads. To its south is the rest of Naoned, but across the river to the Northwest is the Barony of Arzal, a vassal of the County of Gwened. To the Northeast, the Barony of Redon, an autonomous vassal of the Kontelezh Aleth.
Mitaud is largely defined by its dramatic geographic borders. The Gwilen to the North and West, the wetlands of Blackmire to the South and the Ogre's Forest to the East.

Gazetteer
Also known as the Lordship of Midwater, Mitaud is located between the Gwilen River and the Ar Briwer wetlands, a small plateau of dry land.
La Roch - The capital and largest city of Mitaud, located in the Western corner of the Sovereignty, and built on a key crossing of the River Gwilen. A stone bridge crosses the river here along the old Kingdom Road from Naoned to Gwened. The castle of the Lords of Mitaud sits nearby.
The large town sits atop a granite promontory, a collection of houses and warehouses, supporting a robust economy of local craftsmen. With steep streets, it offers a dramatic view of the river port below. Central rain channels funnel water from the heights to the river to prevent flooding. La Roch is a collection point for the sale and transport of salt, wine and lime, as well as the construction of ships.
Nivilieg - A heavily forested region East of La Roch, a large Nemeton is found in this town. It is lead by a Machtiern.
Aelwez - East of Nivilieg
Tehelieg - The Easternmost town in the Lordship
