Altaros

Altaros  used to be the name of the part of the continent which in the west ends into The Old Sea desert, and in the east meets the The Maiden's Belt archipelago, which is situated in The Sea of Tears between the continets of Astaros and Madovar, essentially meaning the area of which is nowadays called Astaros. In newer texts, after The Turbulence  Altaros became to mean what it means today; The whole known world. Altaros is the name usually Humans use. The elves, dwarves and other races have their own names for the world, although they do recognise the term and sometimes might use it themselves, especially when conversing with other races and species.
