Bourne's is one of the two high-status or posh membership clubs - the other is
Wishton's.
Membership occurs by sponsorship and being seconded. This is usually a matter of course for young adults from the right sort of families, but every so often people sponsor those from outside the Great Families in, usually because of some particularly notable skill or favour owed. The membership costs are fairly significant, but the space is impeccably maintained.
Bourne's is designed more for small group conversation rather than larger events, with a variety of dining and conversation spaces, a library, a writing room, a handful of rooms suitable for cards or other games.
They also maintain excellent magical workrooms, very handy for people who have a particular need while away from their own spaces.
Geoffrey Carillon makes use of one in
Goblin Fruit
During
Goblin Fruit, Geoffrey is approached by Warin Burke, a decidedly junior member for a meeting.
