Dolomedes

Dolomedes, known as The Wily Ones, are a large tribe of Kubeleya Attercops whose homeland is known as The Cromlech. They are best known for inhabiting the wetlands of Albanos' Northern Midlands. Semi-nomadic, they live a hunter-gatherer lifestyle with a warrior aristocracy who secure their seasonal territory.

Their diet consists mostly of aquatic animals and plants who live in bogs and wetlands, though they will capitalize on larger game who graze in the area. They bury many of their dead in peat bogs, which the Gannwyll Gwydd interpret as offerings to the underworld God Danno.

They frequently skirmish and raid the Phoneutria, an Attercop tribe who inhabit the neighbouring woodlands. However, most conflicts are solved without escalating violence through their priests and tribal leaders, and they maintain a consistent trading relationship.

They have less sympathy for the Larch people of the Gannwyll Gwydd, friction having developed due to conflicting lifestyles and superstitions. Over the centuries there has been some degree of assimilation and mixing, particularly in the Ghealas province of Deornet where many Dolomedes have permanent settlements and intermarry with the Larchwold families. However, much of this is forced due to loss of habitat and territory.
