Larch
The Larch people of the Gannwyll Gwydd encompass two dynasties - the Larchwolds from the Western territory of Rhudd, and the Larchwoods from the Eastern territories of Ghealas and Hedgecomb.
Culture
Average technological level
Most Belanos noble folk know how to use the internet, although in a rudimentary way that would be typical of early commercial internet services. Internet use tends to be limited to those in the Dynamo Mysteries or in the Clockmakers, but non-members would know it exists.
The less affluent, the less grasp on technology they would have, but a common Belanos farmer or miner would understand the concept of electricity.

Funerary and Memorial customs
Belanos have several death customs, as they are strong believers in afterlife and reincarnation.
Some wish to be reborn and will ingest flammable poison over the course of their life so that their body is sure to burn and degrade after death. This is especially common in Hol Gheal and Blaec Gheal, because they are surrounded by a forest where Double Walkers are a common threat.
Others wish to be buried with their possessions in order for the possibility a double walker will find them and their ‘soul’ will be revived in a similar body. This is common in cases where a partner is widowed or separated from their children and wishes to remain in the body of this lifetime.
Others even, will create a mandrake to be buried with in hopes they will find a living body to possess. This is something only the truly brave, stupid, or desperate do however, as it binds your soul to a plant for eternity.

Common Taboos
Gambling (also known as omen-seeking or fortune telling) is considered a sin and an immoral hobby. It was very common in the early days of settling in the Gheal Valley and Rhudd, causing a lot of fighting, imbalance in wealth, and death in many cases. Although sometimes magi are allowed to use these machines for research and work, they are always on the verge of getting shut down by some Earlen or local Clockmakers guild.
Less common (at least in the Gheal valley) is the taboo of blood trafficking, the sale, procurement, or use of blood taken from another person. Blood transfusions, oaths, and curses are only to be performed by ordained specialists. Blood is considered the life force and conduit of passing on your physical attributes to your descendants, and exchanging blood illicitly whether for curses, bets, or oaths is considered immoral as well.
Belanos are no stranger to blood oaths, but like in many cultures, bets are forbidden and seen as a truly unholy use of gambling with a person’s life.
