Thornbriar Fields
Nestled in the western side of Amoxis , the Thornbriar Fields stretch across vast open plains and rolling knolls, famed across the continent as the breadbasket of the mortal realms. Verdant and golden, this region is a mosaic of fertile farmland, sprawling vineyards, and flowering hedgerows. Despite its serene beauty, its name comes from the region’s signature plant—the thornbriar vine—a hearty, thorn-laced creeper that enriches the soil and grows among crops, protecting them from pests and erosion alike.
The fields are fed by an intricate network of aqueducts and enchanted irrigation canals, many of which date back to the time of The Fracture War, when druids and elementalists worked together to restore the wounded land. Rainfall here is regular, the climate temperate, and the soil, alchemically rich and loamy. Wheat, sunfruit, bramblegrapes, goldenroot, and arcane herbs grow in thriving abundance, making Thornbriar a vital hub of trade for both mundane and magical goods.
Culturally, the region is dotted with strong communal villages, each built around a central granary or temple to deities of harvest—especially Tagyn, Goddess of Beasts and Nature. The locals are known for their rugged pragmatism, deep hospitality, and sharp vigilance, especially in the face of crop raiders, hungry beasts, and the occasional wandering revenant from nearby war-touched lands.
Travelers speak fondly of Thornbriar’s Harvest Festivals, where pies are spiced with sunroot syrup, cider flows from enchanted casks, and animals and Beastfolk alike join in dances that bless the soil for another year. Even amid celebration, however, old standing stones and thorn-wrapped ruins hint at older, darker histories buried beneath the golden bounty. Some whisper that the land remembers blood as well as grain—and that the thornbriars bloom brightest where the past runs deepest.
