Crimson Sands

To the sun-scorched north of Amoxis lies the Crimson Sands, a vast and unforgiving desert of deep red dunes that stretch like waves to the horizon. The region earns its name not only from the iron-rich sand, but also from the legends of ancient bloodshed said to stain the soil—a battleground where forgotten empires and divine wars left their mark.

The landscape is ever-shifting, shaped by fierce gales and violent sandstorms that locals call bloodwinds. These storms reveal and bury ruins alike, exposing remnants of sunken ziggurats, shattered idols, and long-buried cities where magic once ruled unchecked. The sun here seems harsher than anywhere else in Amoxis, burning down through a perpetual haze and tinting the world in shades of copper and gold.

Despite its harshness, the Crimson Sands is not lifeless. Nomadic clans traverse the terrain by starlight, guided by the shifting constellations and ancestral stories. Their caravans are adorned with crimson cloth and bone charms to ward off spirits that are said to drift between the dunes. Some say the desert itself is alive—its winds whispering secrets and curses to those who listen too long.

At the heart of the region lies the Hollow Spire, a colossal, hollowed-out pillar of stone that rises from the desert floor like a broken fang. It is considered sacred and cursed in equal measure. Many believe it to be the grave of a forgotten Titan or the remains of a tower shattered during The Fracture War. Arcane anomalies still flicker around its peak, and few who enter its depths return unchanged.
