The Golden Furrow Consortium is run by seven Merchant Barons, each from a different noble or landowning family that controls vast stretches of farmland, grain silos, processing mills, and export routes. These barons hold private armies of fieldwardens and grainwatchers—militia forces that enforce contracts, guard caravans, and ensure no outsider tries to disrupt their territorial harvests.
