Rutschaflyga

Utility

The technology's origin dates back to the people of Fiáinetai, a race of halflings and gnomes who rode among massive birds to quickly traverse the continent's Southern plains (such as the Khaiguul Plains in modern day Tagnuul, or the sprawling fields in modern-day Fiáinetai). These massive bird species ended up becoming endangered in the last 300 years, causing them to find a new method of transport which did not endanger the species they held dear to their culture. Due to their familiarities with these birds and their complexities, they easily began designing mechanical flying machines to help protect their bird populations. Upon finding some of the abandoned aircraft in territory-disputed lands (such as those in Tagnuul), these Vomethdans were inspired to mimic the technlogy and improve on it in order to quickly deliver messages, people, and massive cargo.   The planes are positioned onto launching pads, which hold small but powerful explosive charges near the feet of the plane, and are launched out of the Bekvinneget Hangar with either liquid fuel sources, crushed-up Fantasma Crystals from the above Fantasma Engine, or the combination of the two in a slurry. The plane then effortlessly glides on top of the turbulent winds of the Vomethndan plains, often reaching Kavios or Utdanning using little fuel despite the weight of their cargo.   The planes are seperated into two types, whom appear the same on the outside, but have different internal layouts. These plane types are: Passenger planes, and Carrier planes. The passenger planes can typically hold around 20 occupants, while the carrier planes are designed to carry a maximum of 6 pieces of Varbor Makkina (taking up to 10,000 lbs total, or nearly 1,000 square feet of space) or any other bulk goods such as food and livestock which can fit within those same requirements.

Manufacturing

These planes operate by gliding on top of the air after their initial propulsional boost, and are as such produced using woven fibre fabrics grown in the city's Aqua Farm and lightweight metals such as aluminum and titanium which are smelted and shaped in the Jernbadstue Forging floor of Jordmässig. The plane's rocket thrusters allow it even to take off from flat ground if need-be, and these thrusters operate using a combination of fuel, runes, and Mystek devices developed in the city's capital of Utdanning, which are transported by the country's hi-tech rasktog system.

Social Impact

Due to the use of these planes as a fast and efficient mode of transport (along with the country's train system), the richer citizens of Vomethnda enjoy being able to tour around the mainland much more than their Promatican and Ezlekhian counterparts. With some hired protection, these individuals are even able to enjoy the Promatican harbors (such as those in and around Mercommernaut) and even Ezlekh's tourist haven of the city of Tsetserleg in Khuurmag.

Saving Throws: Has proficiency with DEX Saving Throws, and proficiency with the Saving Throw of your Spelllcasting Ability (WIS if you have no Spellcasting Ability)
Damage Resistances: Non-magical Bludgeoning, Slashing, and Piercing damage. Additionally, magical bludgeoning
Damage Immunities: Poison, Psychic
Condition Immunities: This object is immune to all conditions

Object: The aircraft counts as an object which can fit up to 20 medium creatures inside of it, and it can haul up to 10,000 lbs of creatures/objects. All damage it takes is reduced by 10, and if the mending spell is cast on the vehicle for 1 hour, it regains 2d4+prof HP   Fueling: Due to the hand-crafted metal composites these ships are produced with, they are very light, only requiring one liter of liquid fuel every 3 hours, though this vehicle is unable to use the Dash action. Types of liquid fuel include whale diesel and synthoil. Alternatively, these vehicles can run off of fantasma crystals, typically requiring only a quarter of a pound of the crystals to run per hour of operation, though this does wear down the engine significantly faster.   Cover: Creatures inside of this vehicle are in full cover, unless peaking through the windows where they are under half cover   Gliding Bulky Aircraft: This object can only gain its flying movement after moving more than 90ft in one turn, or by dropping into the air from a higher location. This object's elevation drops by 5ft for every minute it spends gliding.   Found Vehicle: If the Find Vehicle spell has been used to create this vehicle, its INT, WIS, and CHA modifiers and saving throws are equal to yours   Safe Landing: Upon this vehicle's HP being reduced to zero, it slowly descends towards the ground at a rate of 15ft per turn

Actions

This object cannot take its own actions   Control Panel: This vehicle has a control panel in its chasis which can be operated using the user's action, and the following available actions:     Rocket-Propulsion: This aircraft contains a large storage of combustable fuel on board which it uses for both offenses and defenses, but also as a means to boost its momentum. Using an action and spending one liter of liquid fuel (or a quarter of a pound of fantasma crystals) boosts the speed of this vehicle up to 150ft which is then reduced by 30ft per turn until it reaches its regular movement speed of 60ft. If any creature is within a 30ft cone behind the aircraft upon its thrusters initiating, they take 10d10 fire damage.   Defensive Crystalline Turret: These planes come outfitted with fantasma crystal turrets which it can use for offense or (primarily) defense. As an action, make a ranged weapon attack (which is counted as a weapon for the sake of Extra Attack) at a target within range (90/270 ft). This deals 2d10 + proficiency (if proficient with military vehicles) Force damage on a successful hit if target was a creature, or triple (6d10 + proficiency) Force damage to objects. You may also reduce the turret's damage output by 1d10 to change its damage type to the desired damage type. This weapon uses your ammunition (cartridges) for the purpose of attacking, and can be loaded (capacity 10) using a bonus action   Protection Reflection: To shield the patrons aboard from monsters or other enemies from the outside, Bekvinneget Industries developed a projectable nearly-indestructable force field based on Ezlekhian tech and fashioned it onto these ships. Once per day, upon using an action at the control panel, a glittering crystalline sphere in a 30ft radius surrounds this aircraft manifests for the next 10 minutes; This field has an AC of [13 + proficiency bonus (if proficient with air vehicles)] and an HP of [25 * proficiency bonus], and any projectile which strikes the field is reflected back at the user as long as it remains up. Upon reaching the 10-minute limit, or the HP of the force field reaching 0, the field dissipates or shatters (respectively) and the engine must land within the hour to recharge for 10 minutes, meaning this should only be used in emergencies!

Bonus Actions

Cloaking Mist: A more covert defense mechanism for these ships (during the right weather), the crystal banks on the ship's front are able to manipulate the air with Cold magicks to shield themselves from view with massive fog clouds. These ships have [10 * proficiency bonus] minutes worth of cloaking mist which can be used per day, which can be used by the control panel's user as a bonus action to activate. While active, this ability can be used to create a 15ft-wide 30ft line of clouds in any direction from the ship which are indistiguishable from other clouds except upon a DC 18 or higher investigation check or upon seeing them being created. The ship is considered heavily obscured while within thick cloud cover.

Ships developed for both militaristic and commerical use, Rutschaflyga come from the collaboration of the bright minds of Jordmässig's Skaperen Workshop and its smiths from Jernbadstue Forging. Both the Passenger and Carrier crafts are quite similar on their outsides, both being 45ft long x 20ft wide x 25ft tall Chinook-styled glider planes, however their internals greatly differ, as the Carrier units are built much more for offense while the passenger models are built for defense, though both still have great offensive/defensive capabilities, being top-of-the-line Vomethndan aircraft.

Actions

This object cannot take its own actions   Control Panel: This vehicle has three control panels in its chasis, one for its pilot, and two which can be both be operated simultaneously to perform the following available actions:     Rocket-Propulsion: This aircraft contains a large storage of combustable fuel on board which it uses for both offenses and defenses, but also as a means to boost its momentum. Using an action and spending one liter of liquid fuel (or a quarter of a pound of fantasma crystals) boosts the speed of this vehicle up to 150ft (210ft if the shell is removed) which is then reduced by 30ft per turn until it reaches its regular movement speed of 60ft (90ft if shell is removed). If any creature is within a 30ft cone behind the aircraft upon its thrusters initiating, they take 10d10 fire damage.   Offensive Crystalline Turret: These planes come outfitted with specially-offensive fantasma crystal turrets which it can use for blasting their foes out of the skies. As an action, make a ranged weapon attack (which is counted as a weapon for the sake of Extra Attack) at a target within range (90/270 ft). This deals 3d10 + proficiency (if proficient with military vehicles) Force damage on a successful hit if target was a creature, or triple (3d10 + proficiency) Force damage to objects. You may also reduce the turret's damage output by 1d10 to change its damage type to the desired damage type. This weapon uses your ammunition (cartridges) for the purpose of attacking, and can be loaded (capacity 10) using a bonus action   Shell Shot: As a last-ditch defensive effort, these ships can shed their outermost defensive layer to make a getaway from incoming fire or to fight off nearby foes. While at the control panel, the controller can use an action to press a button which propels the wrought iron outside of these ships. Any creature/object within a 60ft radius of the craft (not including those in the craft) must make a STR saving throw [DC 8 + proficiency bonus (if proficient with military vehicles) + WIS] or take 8d10 + proficiency bonus (if proficient with military vehicles) bludgeoning damage or half as much on a success. These shell pieces fall to the ground in a 30ft radius from the point this ability is activated in, and each creature below these pieces in X turns (X = Height of shell shot activation divided by 30ft) takes X D10 damage (same X as above) upon failing a [DC 8 + proficiency bonus (if proficient with military vehicles) + WIS] DEX Saving throw.   Additionally, this craft's base speed increases to 90ft until the shell is repaired back onto it, its DEX score is set to 17, and it no longer resists Bludgeoning, Slashing, or Piercing damage.   Miasma Vortex: Thanks to the unwieldy magicks latent in corrupted fantasma crystals, Jordmässig's lead Mystek scientists developed ways to direct these dangerous crystals towards predictable destructive outputs. Up to a proficiency bonus number of times per long rest, as an action, you may release cluster bombs containing these corrupted blended crystals to a point you can see within range (150/450 ft). Each creature/object within a 30ft radius of that charge must succeed on a [DC 8 + proficiency bonus (if proficient with military vehicles) + DEX] CHA saving throw or take 1d10 fire, 1d10 cold, 1d10 lightning, 1d10 acid, 1d10 radiant, and 1d10 necrotic damage (6d10 total) or half as much on a success. Additionally, the area within 60ft of the chosen point becomes difficult terrain for the nex minute, and creatures who failed on the save must roll a d4 and become [1=poisoned, 2=exhausted, 3=blinded/deafened (your choice), 4=paralyzed] for 1 minute or until they use an action to attempt the save again (ending the condition upon a success)   Open the Gates!: These vessels typically contain multiple smaller crafts in the bay on their insides. Using an action, you may begin opening the bay doors (which take a minute to open) which raises the craft on legs and allows for up to 6 pieces of Varbor Makkina to roll out from its insides.
