Ekalede

Ekalede: Ekallídí /ɛːkhalːiːtiː/, ekalleidí /ɛːkhalːeiːtiː/
Navalede: Ekalede /ɛːkhaːlɛtɛ/

Ekalede or ekalic1 is one of the languages spoken by Núrakic Elves within the Kingdom of Núrak, specifically around where the kingdom of Ekal once ruled in southeastern Núrak. It's closely related to kílisede to the west, spoken within roughly the same area coinciding with the borders of the neighbouring kingdom of Kilí, to the point that most núrakic elves confuse the two and simply refer to both as ekalede.
The usage of both languages has declined since the unification of Núrak, as most speakers have adopted navalede -the official languages of the kingdom- to some extent or even switched entirely to the latter, particularly ekalede-speakers, so nowadays it's predominantly spoken in small towns and villages in the Dap Hills northeast of the city of Arþólen.
Ekalic accent, however, is quite common in the region, and is considered attractive by many núrakic elves. The most distinguishing parts of the accent is pronouncing [th] as [t] and an emphasis on l. The city of Tarúvil, for example, is pronounced as Darúvill by ekalede-speakers.

Writing System

Ekalede is traditionally written using an alphabet similar to one used for navalede, the only difference being the markings used to show where a word begins and ends.
