Úrra

Sikíronian: Úrra /uːrːa/
Úrra (sikíronska)

Úrra is the second largest of the Azókan Islands, a small archipelago in the southwestern Central Sea ruled by the Sikíron Empire. Its main settlement is the town of Kalra on the southern side of the island.
Úrra is notable for being mainly populated by two different tribes of Orcs -namely the Bólrans and Hargúls- rather than native Azókani, along with a small community of Sikíronians from the mainland living in Kalra as well.
Both tribes came to the island around and after the fall of the Paþarían Empire, and had displaced the native azókani completely by the time they were conquered by the sikíronians. While the bólrans mostly keep to themselves, the hargúls are among the most loyal subjects of the empire.

Geography

Most of Úrra's lowlands are located to the south, while the northern coast is mostly lined with cliffs. Most of the interior is characterized by rough terrain and mixed woods.

Fauna & Flora

Unlike Skeziran and Eikan, the other main islands of the archipelago, most of the cultivated land and pastures are limited to the southern coast, while the northern and central regions have denser forests and more diverse wildlife than on the other islands. This is partly because the hargúls favour raising livestock, bee-keeping and fishing over agriculture, and the bólrans shun the latter entirely, so nature has reclaimed most of the farms and olive groves left by the native azókani.
As a result, the local deer -which were on the brink of extinction at the time of the orcish conquest- now thrive, along with polecats, foxes and rabbits, which suits the inhabitants just fine.
