Avelana Roseheart

Avelana Roseheart is the Avatar of Silvana. She was annointed during the great war and made it her personal mission to defend Branos against the Barbarism of Drogo Thunka. She is the laeder of the Paladins of Silvana and resists the Treaty of Arlen whenever she can, though she rigidly follows the law, at least when she doesn't to let her emotions get the better of her.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Avelana Roseheart is a tall, strong woman. She has well-toned muscles, though they do little to reveal her true strength. Among the avatars she is known as the physically strongest, but also as somewhat clumsy, though her grace could still rival most elves.
Her long blond hair is usually braided as to not get in the way, but when she does let it down her beauty in combination with her friendly attitude can enchant even the most pious man.

Physical quirks

Normally every movement and expression Avelana Roseheart does has purpose. Her gait is quick and in itself is intimidating, just as her rigid posture and deep gaze. When she undoes her braid her mannerisms completely change. Her posture becomes almost lazy, though it still retains an uncanny elegance, just as her gait becomes almost playful.

Personal history

Avelana was born into a family of farmers. She and her family were poor but avid members of the churces. When she was only fourteen war was declared on Branos, and her village was raided. Her parents hid her in a fake wall where her father, back when he had still been a thief, had hidden his boutny. She was forced to watch her father and mother slaughtered. Days later, when the last of the bandits had left, Avelana emerged. She walked the streets where she had grown up, her friends and family rotting in the streets.
Starving she follows the road into Branos, where she joins the first military troop she encounters, "Griffons Claw", a band of mercenaries that would later become one of the main forces of Branos.
She would soon lead the "Griffons Claw" and not flinch from even the most dangerous contract. This would almost lead to her death. Stuck on the battlefield she sacrificed herself to cover the retreat of her comrads, and as she finaly realizes, her new family. To her surprise they return, lead by Akkarin Ladon, a powerful mage. At the time she was still only fifteen years old.
Together they fought through the war until both she and Akkarin were chosen by Paladins of Silvana and Nyx as their Avatars. Through their ascension the war escalated, devastating any place they fought against their foe, Drogo . Soon Blanca Tulipa came and through her mediation the Treaty of Arlen was signed.
In the coming years Avelana did her best to follow the letter of the law, but during the siege of the first Karak she began to understand that she had to trust her own moral compass. She called the avatars together and, gathering their forces, traveled to Karak Bitafjall, lifting the siege for a short time. She quickly found a deep respect for Grodmolim Stormguard and was able to convince him that they needed more than the power of the dwarves to defeat Onyxia. Together Grodmolim and the Avatar went on a crusade and managed to strike down Onyxia , but in the process Grodmolim , the first person she had dared call friend in many years, was lost.
In the last years of the second age Avelana realized how her oldest and most dear friend, Akkarin , was acting strange. She confronted him many times, but he had become distant, speaking only in riddles. Then, when the final prophecy was sent out by Nyx before her disappearance, they fought. Akkarin Ladon left, never to return.
For many years she was alone until a special individual came into her life. The first time she met the tiefling Burgat Smith he was a guard for the Brightspire family. Burgat had not known she was coming and did not know what she looked like. As Avelana, an unknown person, simply strode into the mansion and headed for his guard, he raised an alarm and tried to apprehend her. The incident was quickly resolved and between them a friendship soon developed. Burgat would soon move to Emeresia , where they would eventually become engaged.
To her dismay one morning she was awoken by a junior paladin that told her of Diconom Rexe's purge. As she discovered that her betrothed had also been killed she flew to the Temere Wastes at full speed. There she confronted her brother and, with the help of the other Avatar, imprisoned him in his realm. Though Diconom Rex did not put up a fight, or even defend himself against Avelana's onlslaught.
In the following years she became more and more isolated, becoming but a shadow of her past self. This all changed when she met Shameros, who she has since adopted as her own son.

Mental Trauma

She has lost every one she has ever loved and tries to keep an emotional distance to all people in her life. This has lead her to be mostly isolated in her personal life. Since she has adopted Shameros she has become kinder and, the few that have known her centuries ago, have begun recognizing the woman they had grown to love again.

Avelana Roseheart is highly intelligent, but she often lets her emotions get the better of her.

Likes & Dislikes

She loves orginisation and planning. She despises it when she must wing it, which quickly leads to her anger getting the better of her. She loves the yearly Summer Solstace and the festivities. She would often disguise herself and take part in the festivities just as any woman would.
She dislikes anyone and anything that would harm anyone else, but also has a certain disdain for any form of bureaucracy, though she is willing to accept the necessity of bureaucracy in any civilized society. Additionally she has a feud with the current ruler of Branos, Princess Reqent Moonsung, who blames Silvana for the curse bestowed upon her family.
