The siege of the first Karak

230
242

The dwarves hid behind their walls as the waves of undead spilled forth. The walls of the Karak where formiddable, close to twenty meters thick at the most dangerous areas, but even they shook as the waves of the undead smashed against them. To save the walls King Stormguard ventured out again and again, stemming the tide of the undead, but as strong as they were, they could but stall for the inevitable.   After four years of near constant war the Avatar conveinced. Paladins of Silvana, Akkarin Ladon and Drogo Thunka gathered an army and marched forth. They lifted the siege for a handfull of days, delivering crucial supplies. Until early 236 they held the line, but the Paladins of Silvana finally managed to convince the king to leave. Together he and the avatrs went on a journey, leaving the command to the kings son.   The defenders held steadfast until the middle of the 239th year, where the outer walls were finally breached. Food and space ran dangerously low when the elven congomerate arrived. They, through a combination of stealth and magic, managed to enter the city while evacuating the civilians. This gave the defenders their last respite before, in 241, the inner walls were finally breached. The kings son, with his defenders were in the midst of their final stand, Stormguard reutrned. With their might they battered the undead back.   Onyxia finally revealed herself, furious at the stubborn dwarves for not falling sooner to her unending horde. The king battered the undead aside as he stormed towards the dragon. Onyxia's fire mowed down the undead, but Stormguard remained untouched. There and then he revealed the greatest creation of the dwarves, the evighet. Swinging the great weapon he split Onyxia, and the mountain, in one fell swoop, but the price for that swing was immense. The king of the dwarves was dead.
